Do you know how to line-up your messy dimensions on the drawing?
If your dimensions are not organized into a system, or dimensions are not aligned according to each other, you can align them with command Line-Up. As you can see on the picture below, distance between dimensions is not regular. As well as distance between smallest dimension and part´s edge. And how to line-up dimensions on the drawing?
Select all affected dimensions, right click and select Line-Up option. Or, go to the main menu > Tools > Positioning > Line-up. The Line-up dialog box appears. Then CATIA calls to “Select a dimension or geometry as reference to line-up”in the bottom left corner of the screen.
First column defines offset of the smallest dimension from the edge. Second column defines offset between dimensions. (right, inactive columns are for radius or diameter). In case of selection “Align cumulated dimension values” dimension value is located in the middle of the each dimension line.
Then confirm with OK and dimensions are aligned as shown on the picture bellow.
User is also allowed to select “Align stacked dimension values” to align values with the smallest dimension value (17.5). See picture below. This option is usable in case of the stacked dimensions.
